Heaven on Hell
A downloadable game for Windows
This is a turn-based combat RPG with 16 classes and a skill tree with 12 nodes for every class. Every class also has two 4-piece item sets that grant further bonuses. The game (for now) focuses on an endless amount of combat against enemies from different worlds, with special boss fights every 5 combats. The idea is that you may need to switch your class composition based on the enemies in order to win, as every class has different pros and cons.
I initially started this game as a visual novel-like story game alongside the combat, but as I refuse to let AI write my story, I realized that filling an entire game with dialogue takes more time than I currently have alongside my job. So I decided to put the story on hold for now and instead focus on the combat mechanics, and possibly revisit the story mode at a later time.
A bit about me/how the game came to be:
I am an embedded software developer professionally and have always wanted to make a video game. So, 2 years ago, I started tinkering a bit with Unity and eventually started a turn-based RPG using some MS Paint images. After quite some time of development, and with AI becoming a topic, I started generating some AI imagery and used some Unity assets to make the game look a bit more like an actual game.
Since I make this game 99% for myself, I do not really care about the AI-generated art for now, but if I ever find the time and passion for it, I might replace the art with some pixel art or hire someone to draw something non-AI for me.
To sum it up, I would say 80% of the art is AI-generated, 10–15% of the code is AI-generated, and 0% of the sound is AI-generated (I use Unity asset packs). If this makes the game a total no-go for you, I fully understand! If not, give it a try and leave me some feedback!
